2004-09-29 [raiderxx]: murderers DO deserve to die. they killed someone else in cold blood, then they should be punished. of course, i think they should do a better job during the trial...
2004-09-29 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Dilandau. I agreed with you. Civilians and children don't deserve to die. Calm down. O_o BUT, I also agree with RaiderXX. As I think of it, the person who was murdered had no choice whether or not to be killed. The person who did the murder DOES have a choice... and trust me, if that was put in place, there would be a lot less murders. People now just think that they can kill others and get away with it - the worst sentence they will get is life in prison, and the prisons are a great place to live now. Also, they can just break out. You can't break out of death.
2004-09-29 [Dil*]: depends on what prison you go too, some of them are slack and not so bad...but some of them are like a hell.
2004-09-29 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Yup, most are the former, though, and not so bad... hehe, that's an understatement
2004-09-29 [Dil*]: yep...but some are sooo bad that when some people go into them, they come out as herion addicts because the experience tramatized them so much..
2004-09-29 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Well, what should happen is just that they be kept in a cell and let out in sunlight, so they won't get sick. Have healthy, but not very tasty foods, no manual labor, just that. And no letting people get beaten up.
2004-09-29 [flaed]: And how about Canadian justice? Think about it -- we don't have capital punishment, and, although the life sentence is given, people can be let out early for "good behavior". It's horrid. Plus, they can serve MULTIPLE sentences at once? Bah. There's a lady getting out this year who tortured and killed several teens with her boyfriend, and also videotaped it. How can they let her out?
2004-09-29 [Dil*]: Ya, our justice system sucks bad, i admit it....and i dislike my govt too, but we can still make it better *without* adding in capital punishment.
2004-09-29 [Ylaraniala Majere]: True, we could make it better, but I believe that the death sentence is better... I mean, the ones who deserve it aren't human anymore. They are animals... worse than animals.
2004-09-29 [Dil*]: Depends on your opinion.
2004-09-29 [Ylaraniala Majere]: True enough.
2004-09-29 [flaed]: Well, at the very least, they shouldn't let people out so early or let them serve so little time. I mean, crimes do warrant punishment, and if all they do is tap people on the wrist, how do they expect them to change? ("They" being the justice system/governm
2004-09-29 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Yessss... also, the sentences can be absolutely ridiculous compared to the charge... I think in California, the sentence for animal cruelty is 5 months. While people cruelty is something like 1 month.
2004-09-30 [flaed]: Yeah, things like that are horrible. Why in the world do the courts decide to do that? *wails*
2004-09-30 [Lioness123]: why is is that sex offenders get sentences FAR FAR longer than any murder does?
2004-09-30 [nameless, again]: A guy who worked with my dad got ten years for drugs...The morman guy who recently killed his wife might get off with five...
2004-09-30 [Lioness123]: *slowly shakes head*
2004-09-30 [flaed]: Gah. It's weird -- people seem to get punished much more for "tangible" crimes -- ie: crimes that you can prove easily, like: you have drugs=you are punished. But when it comes to emotional and mental things like murder and harrassment, they back off and go easy on the person.
2004-09-30 [Lioness123]: harrassment is not NEARLY as bad as murder..
2004-09-30 [flaed]: Like at my school for example. There was one kid who was badly behaved in and out of class since elementary, and, even though all of the teachers and many students wanted him gone, he ended up graduating in the end. Throughout the years, he harrassed many of the other students, and drove some of the teachers to distraction, yet he was allowed to stay. However, there was another guy who, a few weeks before exams, they found drugs in his locker. He had never caused any other trouble, but was immediately expelled, although they let him come back to write the exams. Is that just? Is it fair to the other students that they only bother to expell the student whose crime is easy to prove?
2004-09-30 [flaed]: (Lioness, I wasn't trying to say it was...but they are a similar form of expression in some cases, although certain people carry it much much much farther. I'm just trying to say that it isn't only for murder that people in general go easy on.)
2004-09-30 [Lioness123]: ok, I was just making sure that point was clear.
2004-09-30 [flaed]: Yep. I would rather be harrassed and alive, than unharrassed and murdered, I suppose. o_O
2004-09-30 [Lioness123]: true
2004-09-30 [elfboy]: Yep.
2004-09-30 [farfy girl]: Ok, let me get this straight, Dilandau. Do you think that the animals, no, the demons, that plan crashing planes into buildings and killing thousands of people, and those that saw the heads off innocent human beings with short, blunt knives deserve to live? I think that they deserve a fate worse than death, myself. There is no way we can get those lost lives back, and you think that rotting in prison for the rest of their lives and leeching off everyone else in the world is bad enough for them?
2004-09-30 [Kyrinn]: They murder their own ppl, Dilandau, theyd saw the heads off their mothers if they felt they deserved it.
2004-09-30 [farfy girl]: Exactly. Women get seriously hurt in some places if they accidentally show a little bit of flesh. I don't know if they do this anymore, but they would have it public for all to see to make an example of "criminals" like that. Those people are complete psychopathic monsters. A lot of sheltered people think that we can reason with these "people", but the only language they speak is that of violence and blood. You'd think we would have tried talking already... e_e
2004-09-30 [Kyrinn]: Talkingh does nothing, they fight and fight regardless of our best efforts. We try to help, and as reward they shuve a stick up our butts.. Then we try and leave, and they whine. WTF>???
2004-09-30 [elfboy]: Meh...Not having a good day.
2004-09-30 [Kyrinn]: You ok there, elfboy?
2004-09-30 [Cat0132]: yeah, people over there are really messed up, and its like they learned from birth to NOT listen to americans, not to listen to REASON, its just how it is, its how they are raised, its how they LIVE...doesnt help that all other TV other then Saddam's channel was outlawed in Iraq...and if u broke the law u had MAJOR consiquences..
2004-09-30 [Kyrinn]: It is horrible.. and they say we are awful... There are some aspects of this countray thtat I do not like, but at least I can watch what I want and show my ankles without threat of being killed for it...
2004-09-30 [Cat0132]: and not have to accept bribes to support my family...
2004-09-30 [flaed]: You have to be careful, though. It's not just "those people", I mean, a lot of things we say are so awful about them are the results of their leaders, not necessarily because the entire population deserves to die. We're exposed to the excessive violence of their fanatics. We can't assume their average civilian is like that.
2004-09-30 [flaed]: Plus, they have a different culture, which, as farfy girl pointed out, does suppress women more than ours. However, the contrast between their high level of modesty, and the Northern world's lack thereof is astounding. It's not just a matter of an ankle here, or a wrist there - to them, the average girl walking around here must be essentially naked.
2004-09-30 [Kyrinn]: but when a man can punish his wife for showing said ankle or wrist... Not that they all do it, but that it is allowed.. Its degrading to women. I dont much care for the mannerisms of the dress codes of some ppl in my country, but its better than being forced to cover myself head to toe. They cant do anything for themselves, if they do and accidentally flash a bit of wrist they can be punished, beaten for it. That is ridiculous, culture or not.
2004-09-30 [flaed]: I'm just saying that their perspective is different, and every civilisation has their flaws -- we're all human. And, well, we're in our shoes so we see all their flaws, and truth be told, I see them just as much as you do. But, had we been born in their culture, in their countires, we would see all of the flaws of North America, and we would have trouble seeing our own. It's just the nature of humanity -- we always think we're right. Sometimes we are, but other times we aren't.
2004-09-30 [Kyrinn]: True.. I see your point.. But they act on that anger and hatred they see because we are not like them.. They would need to let us be our way and themselves be their way and well all be happy. But they actively hate us, and are taught to from childhood. I dont see "Lets all hate Iraqis" classes in schools or sessions of burning their flags. And yet they do that there.
2004-09-30 [Cat0132]: oh, of course not everyone there is like that, but its like they are brainwashed...
2004-10-01 [flaed]: I'm pretty sure they get in trouble if they step out of the lines, so there's one reason they may all conform to their leader's desires. Plus, if you subject people to certain education systems from birth you can mess with their minds pretty badly...
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: yeah, its pretty bad, but on a happier note i FINALLY got a scanner...im happy
2004-10-01 [flaed]: True, we aren't taught how or why we should hate Iraqis in school, but, nonetheless, many of us have come to look down on the Iraqis and to think poorly of them without really knowing them individually. Much of the population was obviously affected by their leaders, although I think that they may feel oppressed and threatened by North Americans. It's a bad comparison, but if you back a wild animal into a corner, it will often attack you. People tend to do that too. I'm sure the Iraqi government lifted the U.S.A. up and called it and its citizens the enemies, and the people took the bait. Yet we still can't point at them - they're not the only nation who seems to always need someone to fight.
2004-10-01 [Doormat]: Presidental Debate.....SEE WE DO HAVE NEWS [Cat0132], are you happy now? And I see bush is under severe pressure.
2004-10-01 [flaed]: Hmmmm? Who's pressuring Bush? (lol, I'm not even USA-ian :p)
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: im to lazy to watch actually, i was looking forward to it but now im to way to busy scanning a years and a half's worth of artwork...*phe
2004-10-01 [Doormat]: ooOoooh i thought you supported bush
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: i do, i dont love him, i do suport him, but i always found debates fairly stupid, haha...and my scanner hates me now! it keeps freezing up! arg! now i have to fix it!
2004-10-01 [Doormat]: lol debates reveal most of the truth...obviou
2004-10-01 [Dil*]: Yes, our western civilization is ethnocentric, we think our culture is the best one and everyone should follow and be like us. Not everyone is a crazed murderer over there, loads of normal people who just want to get on with their lives. And now they're wondering what happened to the power and why the US is taking over their country; and filling their cities with craters.
2004-10-01 [flaed]: Bah. I don't care too much about individual politicians. I'm more interested in world views and why we think what we think. I mean, think about it...are we products of the system? Do we think what they want us to thin, without truly being capable of thinking for ourselves? Do do dooooo....
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: besides, i sorta figure i cant vote, but i do care more about world politics...but im not gunna sit there and watch a whole debate, espically when i just got a scanner when i havent had one over a year...i have so much to scan *is overloaded* and now its gone crazy on me...
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: i'm gunna watch highlights and read articles on it later...
2004-10-01 [flaed]: Scanners are cool ^_^
2004-10-01 [flaed]: Hmmm? Read articles on what? World politics? Or wait, is there some kind of voting thing happening?
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: no on the debate, but u see my scanner isnt working...i dont know why not, funny i was gunna go down and watch the debate after this picture...ahh the world hates me
2004-10-01 [flaed]: Debate? Oooo, are politicians debating on TV?
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: yeah, i saw like the last 20 minutes...then finally fixed my scanner...woot well im going to bed ttyl!
2004-10-01 [flaed]: Good night!
2004-10-01 [Dil*]: ya, i saw kerry and bush debating...ker
2004-10-01 [Doormat]: the highlights are SO biased....they called in all the vice presidents and former aides of bush
2004-10-01 [Dil*]: lol ya.
2004-10-01 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Yeah, Kerry did pretty well, actually, I was surprised. Amazingly well. Bush also did pretty well, worse than I hoped, though. A bit repetitive and didn't say what needed to be said about a few things. Both touched nerves... it was interesting. lol, and this time, I am not biased... I really do think that the candidates came out of that tied.
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: yeah, kerry did farily well of what i saw anyways, but i loved how at the end the way bush said 'senator' haha...
2004-10-01 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Yeah, he really doesn't think that Kerry is a good person. I happen to agree, but that's what he's thinking. And Bush, as always, seemed more sincere. Still, tied is what happened...
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: eh...i hate kerry hes such a jerk, i would know okay i have the pleasure *major sarcasim* of sharing a state with him...eh...
2004-10-01 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Well, yes, I think so too... and poor you!
2004-10-01 [Ylaraniala Majere]: lol, Kyrinn, though I think that you are right, please rephase... crude isn't right either. I should put that up there, darn it... DARN my procrastinatio
2004-10-01 [Kyrinn]: Oh.. *blushes* sorry.. heh heh... Ok.. Kerry is a JERK!! Arrogant doofus brain! *shakes fist* Is that better? ^^
2004-10-01 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Yeah, thanks ^_^ lol, I'm a nut as far as that goes... and I like it! *grins* And yes, he is... arrogant doofus LIAR, too... lol.
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: well if he goes somewhere with a line (well he doesnt have to do this now i bet, but when he was a lowly senator) he would just go to a person working there and go "dont you know who I AM?" geesh...hes so annoying
2004-10-01 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Yeah, he really is... *rolls eyes* And when you get him angry, then he REALLY starts with the confusion in his head... and who he is. Unfortunately, we DO know who he is...
2004-10-01 [Cat0132]: a flip flop...haha in fact i think im gunna make a banner/picture with a picture of flip flops and of kerry...cause seriously...lo
2004-10-01 [Kyrinn]: He should have been in the olympics, with all that flipping... woulda gotten a gold medal!
2004-10-01 [Ylaraniala Majere]: lol, yeah! ^_^ And the flip-flops were in the Republican Convention, I now know the flip-flop dance well ^_^
2004-10-02 [elfboy]: ^__^
2004-10-02 [Doormat]: i liked how bush started sweating and saying "Ummm...." a lot...it amused me.
2004-10-02 [farfy girl]: I didn't actually see all of the debate, (I had to hear some on the radio because I was in the car) but from what I have seen and heard, Bush was really tired (and shorter than Kerry), and I don't like how people judge on looks so much. I bet lot of doofi (my pet word for plural of doofus) were just sitting in their living rooms hearing only "Blablabla. Blabla." and see that Bush is shorter, doesn't look as nice, (he's still running the country while campaigning, y'know) and judges that. In my opinion, Bush was too nice, and I think he needs to get a lot more aggressive. The questions that were asked tended to be leading and biased, too. (Gee, I feel like the mean girl on the block.... :/ )
2004-10-02 [farfy girl]: Does anyone not like my monologue writing style? =^_^= I'm sorry if you guys find it annoying or whatever, but I have to say what I want to when I get the chance, because I can't be on Elftown much.
2004-10-02 [Dil*]: seriously....k
2004-10-02 [Lioness123]: i can't believe I missed the debate. :(
2004-10-02 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Actually, I don't think that Bush IS a liar. So we obviously have a different idea of what happened. Also, the stuttering part... I watched ALL of it, and trust me, he didn't stutter any more then than he did other times. He was incredulous that Kerry was lying about something that Bush could so easily defend... as well as the many OTHER subjects like that. *shrugs* I have the opinion that Bush is totally disgusted with Kerry and wonders how anyone could vote for him at all, he was lying so much. And he got caught in a few of them! I mean, what was Kerry's answer to that "stutter", as you put it? THAT was defensive! First he says that they cut the money, stressing the money part...
2004-10-02 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Then Bush came back with the "I raised it 35 percent!" and Kerry immediately said "It's not how much money you give, it's how you spend it". What kind of stupid switchover is that?!
2004-10-02 [Cat0132]: haha i know...
2004-10-02 [Lioness123]: lmao! thats great...I love seeing people get caught in a lie...and then try to make other lies to cover those lies!!
2004-10-02 [farfy girl]: Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when at first we try to deceive.
2004-10-02 [Lioness123]: nice rhyme :)
2004-10-02 [Doormat]: Oh the lies that we concieve, everything we hear, we believe
2004-10-02 [Cat0132]: wait...farfy girl i've heard that before...but where?
2004-10-02 [farfy girl]: Yeah, I heard it from my mother. I don't know where she got it from.
2004-10-02 [Cat0132]: well considering over 80% of statics during the debate were true i would very much dissagree with him, as portic as he is...unlike me who cant write peotry to save my life
2004-10-02 [elfboy]: Anyone can write poetry. Just let your heart speak.
2004-10-02 [Cat0132]: no i cant...lol TRUST ME
2004-10-02 [Cat0132]: and i mean GOOD peotry, ive seen plenty of crappy peotry in me day...haha
2004-10-02 [Dil*]: shamelessly plugging: human qualities, and dilandau's poetry.
2004-10-02 [Acomplished Exile]: take the dick out of the mouth ppl
2004-10-02 [Doormat]: errr...right, now get out.
2004-10-02 [Dil*]: hey..it's [deveel]...but with a different name; ya, get out jackass.
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: what are u doing advertising on a wiki ur not even a PART of for?
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: nothing against advertising in rules, whatever?
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: and it's called, shamelessly plugging.
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: but ur even AGAINST this wiki...lol...w
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: well, we were talking about poetry.
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: i know but...wow...
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: im not saying u cant, where did that come from? geesh...
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: DiabloJr. is not capable of having a decent conversation/d
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: yes, he is very effective at being an asshole, but usually he's not the one who starts it.
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: *appears and nods for no reason*
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: No, he most definitly is...
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: *nods again*
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: with hilarious results.
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: *nods*
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: yeah im just wondering where that came from i never said he couldnt...ok then musta hit a nerve *wanders away*
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: *nods* O.o....I'm way too bored....
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: I don't think its funny in the slightest...st
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: ....who?
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: DiabloJr. hes really annoying...
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: he tries, trust me.
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: ah. yesh he is....
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: thats stupid to try and be annoying all the time...it just downgrades your oppinon and makes everyone ignore you...
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: nah, he just doesn't like you, putting it bluntly.
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: *nods and disappears*
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: Don't care...I don't like him...being very vague on that one..
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: doesnt like me? but what does that have to do with poetry?
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: DUDE THAT RYTHMED SCARY!
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: creapy...
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: *reappears* um, yesh it did Eldheler...
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: huh? did you read his poetry? morbid isn't it.
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: oh wait..i get it.
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: i read one, i dunno ive read more morbid, i dont really like peotry, but i didnt say a THING about his peotry so i have no idea where that random attack came from...
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: u get what?
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: to be honest he don't like you much either, so, not a surprise.
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: yeah, don't care...I'm not out to make friends...
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: I get the feeling he doesn't like anyone...
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: i know but it was SO random
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: yep
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: no surprise you were unsuccessful.
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: yep
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: oh...umm, he's less popular on ET than i am....a bit too weird for some peeps
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: I can't say as I'm very popular....
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: i'm kinda.
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: well, I've never been very popular anywhere...can
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: haha, well people generaly like me, but i chose to hang out with 'losers' or 'weirdos' but still alot of people dont care and hang out with me anyways...whic
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: in real life, i just hang out in a tight group of friends.., not popular by a looonnnggg shot.
2004-10-03 [nameless, again]: I hang out with everyone...got
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: well i have two really GOOD friends that i do everything with, but ive gone to alot of schools so i always make new friends at each school so then i have alot of friends form different places, but those two and i are really close, and now for the first time we all go to the same school
2004-10-03 [rocker reject]: personally i don't like prepps or preppy rockers.... sorry....
2004-10-03 [Tiger Shark]: rawr
2004-10-03 [Ylaraniala Majere]: I don't like preps either... smart people from any group save that I will associate with. Goth is good, and geek is good ^_^
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: haha i dont category myself, nor my friends, cause really the three of us dont fit anywhere, though i guess im closets to raver, rachel to punk (like 80's british punk, which is the only true punk) and molly...good lord...i have no idea what to call molly
2004-10-03 [Ylaraniala Majere]: lol, most of the time I don't label them, but I think it's just something to do. I'm a geek, myself. A geek/weirdo.
2004-10-03 [rocker reject]: geeks and weirdos and goths and headbangers are the best cause most usually don't have many friends that way you don't have to worry about stupid peer pressure
2004-10-03 [Ylaraniala Majere]: ^_^ Yup. Peer pressure is the stupidest thing ever. Most kids just want to do bad junk, then they get themselves messed up...
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: heh i dont give a crap about it...im just resiliant i guess...its nice though, to not care what other people think, except friends but if they dont liek you for who u are why are they ur friends? heh...random ramblings
2004-10-03 [Kyrinn]: Peer pressure sucks. Doing stuff because everyone says so is kinda.. dumb? LOL I dont think I ve ever given into peer pressure.. I have had a lot more fun that way! ^^
2004-10-03 [raiderxx]: yeah. but its like peer pressure is some sort of teenage test to see if your ready for the "real world"
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: heh...well i think i passed it...
2004-10-03 [Kyrinn]: I thought leaving high school meant I was growing up.. But Ihave encountered so many ppl in here and in my town that are worse than high school kids in that area...
2004-10-03 [Kyrinn]: No offense to any of you in high school of course..
2004-10-03 [Cat0132]: wait i didnt really understand that comment...*is confused*
2004-10-03 [Dil*]: my friends are very subtle...whene
2004-10-04 [Kyrinn]: In explanation, Ive seen 12 year olds act better than some 40 year olds, lol
2004-10-04 [raiderxx]: thats sad...

2004-10-04 [farfy girl]: I say that if peer pressure is test for the real world, you pass if you can decide for yourself not to do stupid things and get yourself seriously messed up before you're even an adult.
2004-10-04 [Ylaraniala Majere]: Yeah, I was that way when I was younger... or so I've been told. *shrugs* And yup, FG, that's definitely the test. Too many people fail.
